Torchwood: Slow Decay

Started reading. So far it doesn't noticeably suck. yaays.

Jack is a bit moody/bitchy. At Owen, sometimes, so that works out. But he's saying things that to me would seem harsh even for his worst mood. And other stuff that don't seem right to me at all.

Nobody's Jack is Jack-in-my-head, is the thing. Even some episodes I get grumpy about.



I want to go sleep but I have possibly another two hours of awake left.



Also available information suggests I should have gone to college today to get my essays back, but I haven't. That isn't so much of teh good.

I was thinking 1-05 and how none of the voices seemed right to me, but Jack did come out the closest to okay, just with a lot of data dump.

a) a lot more naked
b) dating me and Ianto

... I realise only parts of that are likely to catch on in the rest of fandom...

There are scenes and moments where I think the writing is less smooth than at other times - this extends through the whole of series 1 - but generally speaking, Jack doesn't seem off to me - no more than anyone else. Sometimes the script is clumsy, but Barrowman is adept at making it sound all right anyway.

Ideally, though it's a trade-off, since I love him in his vintage military outfit... Nakedness is for the fic, but I do wish they'd give him more sexy scenes. Why does Owen get all the best action?

The Ianto bit has caught on really well. You might have to work at the rest.

But the kids aren't supposed to be watching anyway. At least we got two Jack/Ianto kisses. I hope for more.

In my mind's eye I can see Torchwood S02E01 beginning with a view of Jack's office, panning down to his bedroom, with a naked Jack and Ianto in bed together asleep. Admittedly my thinking often gets derailed at that point...

...but when it does move on, I quite like the idea of seeing an episode (or maybe even two) done as retrospective flashback, with Ianto and jack telling each other what happened since Jack left. Maybe that's because it's an excuse to keep Ianto and jack together in bed, but... tell me it might work! ;)

Nice! I'd love to see more of his bedroom, since my idea of what it's actually like isn't very clear. Showing it with them in it would be just fine.

Any excuse for a Jack/Ianto scene will work!
