scripts is hard
Aug. 4th, 2009 01:24 pmMy script has 44 pages but is not ending.
And I kind of don't know what they did for the last 10. Argued?
The trouble is, the more characters wake up, the slower everything gets. And then it takes more pages. And, er, I totally get why many TV shows have only a couple of characters. Even if I like Teams and think there should be more of them.
... my current script has an insanely ambitious large team. But I like all their stories. And mostly I can have only a few of them in any particular bit of the story. Just this one introduces everyone.
So. I will pretend it was meant to be 60 pages all the time, and go and write the next action bit.
I know what ends up happening, it's just taking a lot of running around to get it all done.
... also there's the niggling and pervasive realisation that it is not, in fact, very good.
On the plus side, there's lots of womens, and people of color, and a lesbian couple. So that's all my ticky boxes already.
