Writing 'original' stuff is hard in different ways to writing fanfic.
With fanfic you have clearly established characters to voice match and an already made world to squeeze into. For fanfic you pounce on the plot holes and logic gaps, lever them wider, and fill them in with pretty colors.
With 'original' stuff you have no characters, and no world. So you can do whatever you like with that there blank page... but then you're the one that ends up with the great big crochet looking logic holes.

My practice with fanfic is of limited use with original script.

Is frustrating.

I found that if you create your own little world and spend a good long while inside it in your head, then it becomes easier to set a story there.

Then think of a few characters and play with them in lots of situations in your head and see if they are flat and 2d and unoriginal, or great new imaginary friends.

Then you just need a plot and or help for your mental illness because you've been talking to people who aren't there for too long.
