Cameron's plan to stop benefits for people with treatable conditions who are not getting treatment scare the hell out of me.
For a start he seems to have conflated treatable and curable.

And if they have to wait to get benefits as long as they have to wait to get treatment, people are going to starve.

I know it's pre election flag waving designed to appeal to their core voters who are all absolutely sure that they, personally, will never have such problems and that everyone who does brought it on themselves, but what if they win again? Counterfactuals will run policy again.

I tried to read beyond the headlines but they keep lying and lying and lying, and there's never any bad consequences for them for lying, and they use it to stir up their voters so it is in fact working rather in their favour.

They scare me. They'll stand their waving their big policy ideas around and let people die. That's what their proposals really mean, leaving people to starve to death. More people. It's already happened.

MacGyver

MacGyver is being less fun than I'd hoped. The inventing things from random things is fun, but so far the story seems to be: go somewhere foreign, meet a stereotype or three, prove they couldn't look after themselves without the American white guy, profit.
that wasn't what I was looking for.
the pilot episode was all America as far as I could tell. Maybe they go back to that soon? That would be more better.

ugh, kissing.

different kissing every week. why we supposed to like that guy?

I mean so far there's sidekick girl of the week, who has local knowledge and gets captured. So the women don't get to be important, like they would as a regular, and there's no actual relationships, because kiss and credits, and they only have narrow areas of competence that do not include looking after themselves.

also, episodes have not so far got as far as 'two named women', but I was not expecting them to, because old.

this is less fun than I had hoped.




Okay, so, I can see what they're trying to do, and it involves looking at Richard Dean Anderson being smart and kinda pretty even if young, so that mostly works. But the racism and sexism is wearying.

I hate it when I don't pay enough attention in the dragons game and end up selling some dragon for orders of magnitude less than I intended.
I feel stupid, and then I feel stupid for feeling stupid about a game.
