beepy thing is going beep again.
I phoned teh housing assocation last time and they will send someone to look at it but they said end of March unless it beeps again so I'm writing down now that it beeps again.
... the beepy thing is 'mains heat alarm' and says 'disconnect from mains before removing' so taking it down to see if there's a battery to replace is beyond me.
pushing the hush/test button seems to have worked again though. but it beeps VERY LOUD when tested.

the smoke alarm in the hall isn't beeping and probably still works. probably.

and it's not like I was making any cookings or smokes anywhere.

the dishwasher had just switched from wash to dry, but last time it was two in the morning and nothing had done that.

I reckon it'll still be the same priority if I report the same thing a second time, so I'll wait and see if it does it a third, or until the electrician turns up.

Today I am so bored
yet from Thursday evening I will have so many things to do.

Redemption convention
http://www.conventions.org.uk/redemption/
206 adult members today, though a couple of people on the mailing list just said they'd not make it.

on the one hand, I'm excited, because this convention was fun the last couple of times I went.
on the other hand, it has been years since I was in a room with that many people and trying to talk
even without knowing how many people that is I can say this
because I have not interacted with other humans very much for a really long time now.
college lessons finished at the end of 2012, more than two years ago, and I hadn't really been going to them that semester anyway. I've barely been getting to the science fiction group since then. Last year's sum total of social evenings out was 7. Seven. seven times I interacted with other humans at all. plus two convention weekends.
I am a hermit and this was not the plan.

so I will try and be interactive for a weekend despite being woefully out of practice.

... or, possibly, I will curl up in a corner and hide under my hat. that's a thing that can happen also.

what if my head is empty again?

that would be less fun than having actual conversations.

I should also pack. I don't got costumes, at least not any planned, there's always the chaos costuming. I reckon I'll bring the comfy trousers and some t-shirts and call it done.

Today I contacted people to see if things are doing the helpful progress thing, and they probably are, but the earliest we will know is two more weeks. So I have marked two more weeks away on my calendar and will not bother anyone again before then. So now I have nothing to do except wait and see.

Which is clearly the easiest part.

... :eyeroll: ...

I shall go think of something to do.

I'm deciding how to decorate the WC at the new place. Assuming I get the new place. Which would be nice.
The bathroom and WC have no windows, and a surfeit of light pulls, which presumably do something but without the little map the electrician is going to make I am unsure what.
They've got the cheapest white loo, bath and sink, white tiled walls, and black and white squares on the floor. And initially I can afford to change precisely none of it.
So.

Bling.
Rainbows and bling.

The other plan is blue. The current bin is blue, which is the correct colour for bathrooms. The laundry bag is blue too, and that's likely to end up hanging on the back of the door. Blue everywhere.

But I'd rather find a matching bling bin for the WC instead.
Well, one for less than £28...
