Yesterday some books I ordered arrived :-D
I had ordered five because there's a money off from that shop if you do that
but now I'm just
jumping from book to book
wanting to read all of them first.

It's actually a bunch of DnD stuff, because I have a ton of Pathfinder but not a ton of people locally who play Pathfinder, so I'm going to see what 5e is doing. Not really keen on that, so I keep bouncing to the next thing.

I keep looking at the arts and thinking that's not what that magic item looks like etc. Different arts not my fav. But also, if the Handy Haversack equivalent says it has two side pockets and a main section, the art is fail if it has only one front pocket. That's not met minimum requirements.

And magic swords are grand, you can make them many sorts of varied, but since a human is presumed to be able to grip the things you do actually have some constraints in the matter of hilts, so it's not helpful to put gems all over the grip bit, let alone make it very shapes.

I dont know though, my oreference in magic items is to make them discreet. Like if you have to Identify them every time and can pick them up without knowing, some of these arts are Very Odd. Like it's difficult not to conclude the blade is magic if it's floating in three pieces.

Still, havent read all the rules yet, maybe there's a section on Very Obvious Magic...

So far I like Pathfinder better
it feels like its got more twiddly bits and options and settings and so forth
like DnD has a similar climbing frame but with the top taken off.

Just from reading the character creation rules.

Also the spell description for Wish. It's more boring when it goes 'this spell can do anything! but anything looks like all the other spells.' Like I quite like it that the GM gets to monkey it if you color outside the lines, but, there's a difference between 'this can do anything, but watch out!' and 'this can do anything the other spells can do... and some other stuff, I guess'. And as for maybe screwing up ever being able to cast it again, that's just dumb. Boring boring boring. What's the point of getting Wish if you don't get to use it? Boo.

I know Pathfinder 2e makes Wish more boring too, but still, this is the most boring version yet.

Also, there's so many gods, and so little about the gods, it feels weird. And so few domains, which work so different. Also the disclaimer that they've DnDed them doesnt make me agree at all with how they've written up Greek and Norse gods.

Mostly I'm reading and finding the same words used for slightly different things and feeling less like I'm discovering a game and more like someone moved the furniture.

Change, I like it not.

Ah well.
