I went to the Peterborough Arena and stood in lots of queues and met lots of people and made sentences and got things signed and went to two talks and saw lots of things and gave smiley face stickers to all the people :-)
(well, all the ones that had an open queue and almost nobody in line, because autographs cost money and I was going to go and not give money and it seemed a bit cheeky to wait in front of anyone to do that)

I met all the people I planned to and got things signed that I brought and heard the talks I wanted to. Fun!

... I don't think I'm doing that again.
Many people. Many. Lots.
And the noise. It was just one big huge echoey metal room, so all the people were talking and it bounced around, and the noise was constant and everywhere and people and difficult.

But the nice crew people let me out right away when I wanted oooooouuuuuut, I didn't have to go all through the hall, the fire door was right there.
My employee was very helpful with the standing there and talking to crew and also repeating my name when I keep stuttering it. It is very annoying that the hardest word to say is my own name. b-b-b-b-b-b bother it.

I felt tense and sick and jumpy all day. I couldn't eat. I had one sandwich one time, but that's out of all day, and I had to work at it. Also from the way my shoulders feel my they have been up around my ears all day. Too many people, too much stuff. Overload. Boo.

But when they let us out the door there was no people and there were two chairs just randomly left out there, so that was ideal. I think they were blocking the road for some reason, but, chairs, I can has sitting. *shrugs* So that was nice, sit in the quiet outside for a bit. Quiet was hard to find.

I had budgeted and figured out I could not be a fan of all the things at once. Well, I could, but not in rational budgeting world. So I just got 8 and 7 and Ace, and the two Highlanders, and John Barrowman. That adds up to a whole bunch of money. But I had a sentence to say to all them, and I think I made sense in English even. Also I showed AP my watcher tattoo :-)

Everybody else only got a smile sticker. But there were some good interactions. People like shiny glittery smile stickers, or else they get the idea this is the limit of my social skills and fake it. Either way, fine by me ;-) ... I have to assume that people who don't want a sticker wouldn't take one. Or would stick it somewhere inconspicuous. Rather than on their face as a beauty mark :-) So I think they like the stickers. Also new things happened this time. Someone asked if they could cut theirs out and keep it on the backing, and we happened to have scissors so yes. So then other people did too. And someone else said it looked like LSD and tried to eat it ;-) And everyone chooses their favourite color. Is fun.

I didn't talk every single person in the whole hall but it sure felt like it by the end of the day.

Also my employee has a camera and is all ooooooh famous people! ooooooh costumes! So she was having fun too.

So the day was a success, but quite difficult, so I think I'll be sticking to the sort of events in hotels with parties from now on.
