Today I read more Analog
(pregnancy as punishment, so I stopped reading)(no I don't care what he's done)
I watched Doctor Who and the whole Earth burned
And I designed Sims for many hours to be Harry Potter characters, mostly so all the pureblood wizards wear dresses as formalwear. Must remember to have formal parties. Harry is meant to be South Asian and Hermine black, but the hair options are frustrating and if I use half the darker skin tones I'll need to turn the brightness up. Also all the makeup looks pants. Now I get why complaining. But there is a Neville and later there will be cow plants and I imagine he will be very happy.
I also listened to Torchwood, We Always Get Out Alive. But it's a frustrating audio experience on the laptop with the fan noises, so I might try that again on the tv. Seemed good, Gwen and Rhys talking a lot, the kind of stuff that could be ordinary relationship life work balance stuff except it's Torchwood.
Pretty good day.

Space of Her Own (Asimov Magazine)
Date: 2018-08-23 06:26 am (UTC)I was looking for something to read while I wait for a hospital appt later this morning and found a 35 year old anthology from AsimovMagazine Ed: by Shawna McCarthy with w20 stories by women incl: Ursula K.LeGuin; Tanith Lee; Pamela Sargent; Joan D. Vinge & Connie Willis (last is the only one I've not got a novel by).
It occured to me instantly that, if you're interested in reading it, I could mail it down to you (with packaging to return it when finished) at some point. Could be as soon as you wish since I would be expecting it back.
Anyway, if you'd like to read it, just let me know.

Re: Space of Her Own (Asimov Magazine)
Date: 2018-08-29 09:10 pm (UTC)but I have thought a bit
and there is a family Rule about Never Lend Books, on account of if they wander off you tend to lose the friend as well as the book
and I think this is a good rule
because the stack of things I have absolutely every intention of doing any day now goes back... to last year's birthday, actually, which is a bit far
so I can't say things will be returned in a timely fashion
even without the risk of losing things in the post.
thank you for thinking of me though, it's a good thought.
