The new fandom fic cycle is weird and frustrating

especially since I keep reading in fandoms I haven't watched.

because I start out with no opinions and just read stuff that's kind of novel length
and then I develop an OTP
I don't know why, I'm just like that
and characterisation varies between pairings? As do characteristic concerns. So there will be one set of characters that very precisely hits my interests.
And then I will develop Opinions.
Sometimes detailed ones.
Based on just accumulated fanfic.

And then my filters start getting specific.

Too particular and I run out of works, not having picked the exact tag everyone was using.
Too general though and I spiral off into frustration
as everything is yet another coffee shop AU.

And why I get frustrated at AUs in fandoms I do not watch I do not know
but I do.

Once I am at Opinions it all just spirals into

even though I do not in fact know if they are in canon like this.

I am, in short, ridiculous.

And having feelings about werewolves.

mostly that more fic should actually keep them being werewolves.
