I have New Hair :-D

The hairdresser can accurately estimate how long since the last cut once I take my hat off.
(too long)

I anticipate the rest of the day shall be for being Very Tired
but I did real good at Sit Still In Loud Place while Hair Cut Happens
so that's okay.

I got a haircut at the hairdressers
for the first time in years

It took a bunch of arranging support and practice walking and suchlike, but, I went and now I have undercut hair and manageable length. Length on top will go in a ponytail neatly but is not long.

Sooooo much hair got cut off, it is quite a relief.

He put the buzzy trimmer half way through the elastic on my mask, but I had worn two masks for just such an event, so that worked out :eyeroll:

I did my half correctly and have much less hair now 🌞

The hairdresser is only 3 cross the roads away and they're two traffic lights and a cul de sac, so I went on my own :-)

I have new hair :-) But I'd told him I was growing it out until I saw someone looking cool and he suggested we try it at the length the underneath got to, so now I have chin length hair all over, pretty much, except for a little of the underneath. I shall see if I like it. and if I don't I can always go back and buzz the underneath again later.

He starts out saying 'it's not as thick as it used to be' and then half way through he's all 'I always underestimate how thick this is'. Yes. But he thinned it and cut it and now it looks like hair instead of a bit of a disaster.

And then I got Ribena on the way home ready for dancing tonight.

And mum only helped by pep talks on the phone.

So I think that was pretty awesome.
... mum makes me say awesome, and bought me a unicorn called Awesome, but things are not awesome as often as she thinks, but this was because it has been ages since I last managed.

I have the same hair cut I had the last few times, with buzzed undercut up to the temples and chin length top layer, and no hair dye so my silver streaks are coming in nicely.

I went on my own, which is me doing quite well for this year.

On the way there I got a magazine, because I was going to be Early, but he was ready early too so that worked out. And on the way back I got Legends of Tomorrow DVDs because win.

I tried to make some photos of me but daylight is too much for the camera and house light is too little. May try again later.

I am all new and sparkly now :-)
... did not go goth black. For the first time since... long long long. I have nice silver showing now.

The buzzed layer is back to a three cut and the long hair on top only goes down to my shoulders and will probably not fall into the candle again for a while.

I made some photos on my phone, cause the other day I realised I can't find any photo of me I've posted in the last decade, but when I went to show the internet I realised further that this is because I don't have a photo editing program any more so the lighting and framing is just rubbish. So you could have some pictures of lens flare and the flash in the mirror and my glasses reflecting my camera and quite a lot of the ceiling or some bits of blurry darkness. Or there's pictures from outside where my glasses are black and my hair is flying everywhere. I'm now much more impressed with everyone else's selfies, I can tell you. So the internet will have to take my word for it but I have excellent hair again.

It has been aaaaaages since I got my hair done, due to the whole not leaving the house thing.
Mum said I should just grow it out and get a new style, but it was past my chin and heading for my shoulders and still did not obey the laws of gravity.
I had Wolverine hair. All sticky uppy at the sides, no matter what I did to it.
Also, I did not look like me.
So today I have the underneath buzzed back again and all of it proper goth black.
The top layer is getting long, he cut off the last three inches because it was totally frazzled and snarly and it's still plenty long now. I think I like it this way, but if I don't I can go get it shorter later.

It's annoyingly difficult to get as far as the hairdresser lately. He's nice chatty person same like usual once I'm there, and he knows to book me on a quiet day with none other people around, and he remembers not to use the stuff that makes my face go bumpy, so is plenty good hairdresser. I just have to get there.

On the way back I went to the supermarket and bought fizzy apple drink and more Batman : The Brave and the Bold. It doesn't have enough women in it, but this is true of too many things, so I decided I enjoyed it enough for the price they were asking. I need to go as far as Norwich for shopping soon though, there are better DVDs to acquire. Also I need to get to the cinema while the Hobbit is still in it. Aaaany day now. *sigh*

Hairdresser guy was not feeling so very well today. In fact he started off sniffing and saying he had a bit of hayfever and ended up coughing, sneezing, and declaring he felt a bit rough. 'Probably swine flu' :eyeroll:
... probably not, right? even tho hairdressers meet like everyone...
so he weren't very chatty, which is no problem, and he were a bit pull my hair, which is small problem, and he got my neck twice with the scissors, which is Problem, but not PROBLEM because it was only uncomfortable and worrying, rather than actually damaging. He no usually have this problem. He got the buzzy hair trimmer out instead and it worked much better.

So now I have great hair, annoying small cut off bits appearing in unlikely areas, and the niggling fear of getting flu just in time for the big expedition to the wedding.

I will focus on 'great hair'.
Red on top and black underneath. For a while it looked like I had a crest.
And no more grey, which I've said for a while I don't mind but am now getting grumpy about. I still think it would look pretty good mixed with black instead of brown. I just dislike how it increases, however slowly.

It looks very much like the old hair did until the colors faded out.
Except he cut it a bit different because he felt like it.
Which is cool. I don't mind, as long as I look interesting.
So, I'm all red and black again :-)

I also did shopping. Got a nice pair of black trousers in nice fabric, feel like some much missed ones I wore to pieces years back. Those should be good. Found a nice semi see through top with black roses on, and it might be too big for me, which is rather the opposite of the usual problem. Also got a lovely little bead thingy looks like a black shiny web, is sort of a mini cloak. That should go nicely with many things.

Also it will pack small. I've decided to not go much for dressing up this weekend, just take mostly plain bits with a couple of sequin bits to go with, and my flashy Buzz Lightyear gun.

The gun is essential.

Also today I bought a watch. I did the reserve things at Argos thing, and then asked to try them all. The ones that looked good on the website looked kind of tatty in 3D - surprise - and many watches have fiddly straps. I figured if I couldn't get it in three tries it weren't the watch for me. So I ended up with a stretchy one. I think I like it. And if I don't, it isn't tragic, because I can afford it.
I like being able to afford things.

On the way out the shop I found a bracelet with a silver chain and pink-purple-blue threaded through it. 10p :-)

I also bought a rainbow hat. Which sounds just like my rainbow hat and my other rainbow hat, but is in fact different. One is for summer, one is sort of felt stuff, and this one is knit for winter. Rainbow! :-)

I also did other bits of walking that didn't end up with things bought, but no worries.

Take that agoraphobia! I did all the pretties shops on my own!

oooh, except the one right out the back of here, which I forgot on account of it was at the start of the circuit when I was only on my way to get my hair done.

I also read half the play we need to read before next Tuesday. Is nothing like I expected. Is interesting.

I haven't watched any Stargate since the last convention, and I only vaguely know who any of the guests are because I just looked it up, but I have decided this matters not, for I am going to party.

After this, am booked for no more conventions.
This needs fixing.


Today I seem to be doing the rest of the clothes sorting. I guess I'll have time to wash stuff if I find it all today. I've dragged things out the way in the other room and shall be able to dig through the cupboard. I only do that whenever I do convention stuff. I should make sure I'm not ignoring any everyday clothes while I'm in there.

Also I get to choose shiny things :-)
I have this red disc pendant that I bought for graduating from the Access course. Think that will be a good start. And the big hair biter with the shiny red too...

I'm awake.
I'm thinking I should buy a punch bag. Then when I wake up wanting to hit things with a large stick just as much as I did when I went to sleep I could do something about it.

I have a hair appointment in an hour. Then I will have fabulous hair, in bright shiny colors.

I think I'd rather have another 6 hours sleep, but its a whole short term / long term thing. I want the shiny hair before Friday, I gots to go today.

Now I need to choose a book to take and read while my hair is cooking. One with nice clear print.

Many people go to the hairdresser and talk. Last time the only words I made were 'too much hair'. But they figured out what to do about that. Hairdressers have smarts.


Mum yesterday had a big speech about how she likes my hair how it is now and was only not liking the 'shave my head' speech because she thought I'd end up looking like a butch cancer patient. So of course now I'm tempted to get it cut right short again.

But I like my long-and-short hair. Two looks, no worries.



Mornings are annoying. Especially if I have to actually be awake in them.
